Our Composer of Music for Art is, generally speaking, a deliberate, patient gal. She is willing to take the little steps (baby steps) every day to move her creative work along, her personal relationships, the care and feeding of all the little things that require care – that enable her to arrive at the moments in her day when she can be fully available for her work.
But every now and then, and perhaps more frequently, she finds it necessary just to sit down, for as long as it takes, and hammer something out. She was in that mood yesterday. She has several dark, eery paintings up on her website without any music. She has been percolating a musical concept for these paintings for at least 6 months. Yesterday morning she got up and said, “It’s time to do this!”
There is a special power, impact that comes from the bold stroke, from the execution that denies doubt and second guessing. Works finished quickly with this approach are typically raw, but solid conceptually. We have not had time to think through subtleties – we have simply invested intense, concentrated energy into the transformation of a single concept into concrete form

and here is a link to the pairing with Christine Nowicki’s awesome painting: the deceiver by Rachel Christine Nowickiin reality – you have contemplated and gestated many powerful, important concepts for projects. very little just “came suddenly out of the hat” think a little about what has been percolating. take this radical approach now and then – just put everything aside and transform that idea to physical form today – in one powerful stroke. be amazed at the raw impact of the creation. be encouraged and reminded of the powerhouse within you. take that back to your important, daily, step-by-step process.
